About me
Teaching is all I have ever wanted to do since the 5th grade! I found my niche when I started teaching English as a second language online in 2012. The diversity of my students was, to say the least, exhilarating.
Because I was an avid reader from a young age I decided to study as a librarian and in 1985, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences. My additional subjects were English, Psychology and Criminology.
I have developed training material and assessment tools for a tutoring company in Cape Town and I am an accredited outcomes-based assessor within the ETDP (Education, Training and Development Practices) field.
My lessons are diverse and include: grammar, conversation, pronunciation and reading. I would like to include interesting “extras” for instance: poetry, cultural experience, history, topic related vocabulary, free talking as required by the student.
My aim is to make your learning experience fun and enjoyable. I do have a wacky sense of humour and love laughing. Having 5 children (3 boys and 2 girls) I feel like I have been teaching, coaching, facilitating for most of my adult life. You will be in very safe, experienced and patient hands.
My hobbies in include reading, swimming, baking and photo editing.

I am a TEFL Certified teacher from a small, coastal city in South Africa called Port Elizabeth. I have 12 years of working experience as an online English teacher. My working experience has brought me great experience in teaching people from all over the world.

My expertise lies in general conversational English and business English such as business correspondence, negotiating skills, social skills, meetings and presentation skills and much more.
